It’s been another big week at our house!

Jace started the week playing chase in the park with Aunt Marian….

And splashing in puddles.  Before long he took up splashing with his hands.  And eventually he ended up sitting in the puddle.  Oops.  You can’t exactly tell in the picture, but he was SOAKED!  Splashing in puddles just makes him so happy!

We headed home for a quick change of clothes, a nap, and then went to the airport to pick up Jace’s Aunt Kelly and Cousin Ronyn!  We went out to dinner, but Jace wasn’t too interested in his cousin.  It’s tough to compete with macaroni and cheese….  But in the morning, Jace was excited to play with the new visitors.

I don’t know why, but Jace thinks noses are hilarious.  He likes to touch the animals on the noses.  It makes him laugh.  Jace seemed to feel the same way about Ronyn.  He touched him on the nose, laughed about it, and then petted Ronyn’s head!

Jace seemed a little jealous of Ronyn, but overall he did really well.  By the first afternoon, Jace was carrying his toys and stuffed animals over to the swing to share.IMG_5217 IMG_3569

The next day, Kelly, Ronyn, Jace and I headed to The Crayola Experience.  Crayola Crayons are made here in Easton, Pennsylvania, so they have a four story “experience” where you can learn about crayons and play with Crayola products.  There was a lot of fun stuff to do there – and I think it will be even more fun for Jace as he gets older.  The first thing we did there was create our own markers.  The process involved pushing four buttons, so Jace was happy.

As we headed to the next room to create a customized Crayola wrapper, Jace discovered the ramp.  In true Jace fashion, he was much more entertained by the ramp and the stairs than by the Crayola activities.

Kelly and Ronyn played at Art Alive (computer stations where you can draw pictures and send them to the projector so you can see your creation on the wall) while Jace and I explored Toddler Town.

After that, Jace played with sidewalk chalk while Kelly drew pictures and turned them into puzzles.  Jace checked out the Color in the Dark room before we headed upstairs to create more masterpieces.

It’s a pretty cool place.  You can melt crayons into fun shapes (Jace and I made a dinosaur which he promptly tried to eat), you can create spin art with crayon wax, you can paint with melted crayons, and you can turn your pictures into coloring book pages!  We had so much fun that we turned our one-day tickets into an annual pass.  So – if anyone wants to come check out the Crayola Experience, we’re ready!

As if that day wasn’t exciting enough, that evening Jace had his first treat from the ice cream truck!  I’m not sure who was more excited – Jace or Adam – but they were both really cute.  They picked out a Spiderman popsicle and between the two of them they finished the whole thing in about 4 minutes.  Yummy!

Ronyn didn’t get any ice cream, but he and Adam hung out after Jace headed to bed.  The next morning, Ronyn got a bath.  Jace was quite interested and tried to share his bath toys with his cousin (well, tried to throw his bath toys at his cousin….).

It was fun having Kelly and Ronyn visit.  Ronyn was very smiley.  He and Jace are only 13 months apart, so hopefully they’ll be great playmates every time we visit Colorado!
