It’s been a hard week for paper products at our house! Every time I turn around, Jace has found the toilet paper or the kleenex or the paper towels or the packaging paper…. Lucky for him, tomorrow he’ll get to play with wrapping paper as much as he wants!
The animals are all pretty comfortable now, but we’re missing Cherie! It’s amazing how helpful it is to have an extra pair of hands during the day. Even more than that, it’s fun to have another adult to talk with all day!
Cuervo is NOT happy about the groundhogs living in our backyard. He spent a very long time outside yesterday trying to encourage them to relocate. He’s dug an amazing hole now – he almost disappears when he chases after them! I’m hoping they’ll realize Cuervo is here to stay and decide they’d like to live somewhere else….
Today Jace and I went on a short walk to explore this paved path by our house. Turns out it leads to a playground! The first picture is of Jace in front of the little kids play area. The second picture is of the big kids play area. This park will be fun for years to come!
The park is about a 10 minute walk from our house. Maybe less. Notice the blue sky in the park pictures? Yeah. Well, before we made it home, it was POURING. We did get inside before the hail started, but it was close. And we were soaked!
Tonight we had Little Caesars pizza for dinner – just like we did a year ago today! Adam and I keep talking about how different our lives were a year ago. At this time last year we had NO IDEA that Jace would be here in less than 12 hours. And tonight our almost-one-year-old chewed on some pizza crust with us!
Sippy cups are tricky. Jace’s favorite way to drink is by laying flat on his back – that way he doesn’t have to worry about tipping the cup! He is excited to use the sippy cup with the straw, but hasn’t quite gotten it figured out yet…. Tonight he was very interested in trying the sippy cups again – two at a time!

Reading “Where’s Spot?” – video
Jace loves this book. He doesn’t like to lift the flaps on his own yet (which is probably a good thing – we have a book with cloth flaps and he is really rough with it!), but he loves when other people lift the flaps. This was our third time reading the book – in a row – and he was still laughing at almost every flap!
Our soon-to-be Birthday Boy is doing pretty well with sleep lately too! Nap times aren’t really happening, but last night he slept 2.5 hours and then slept another 1.5 hours. Yay! Tonight he’s been asleep for over 2 hours. Hurray! Hopefully he’ll get a great night sleep and be rested for his birthday tomorrow!
